Amazon EU · Operator-led · Ireland — built on 14 years of doing it

The biggest market your brand has never entered. Ireland is the route.

From zero to live across Amazon Europe — Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands — through Ireland, the only English-speaking country inside the EU customs union. Zero import duty. One VAT registration. One operator.
The assessment is called The Bearing — free to request.

Chapter 01 — The structural advantage

Your competitors don't know
this exists.

Where your goods route from decides your costs, speed, and paperwork in every EU market. Routed through Ireland, the numbers change.

€0
Import duty into the EU
Ireland to Amazon's EU warehouses crosses no customs border. No declarations, no duty.
UK route pays €2,000–€5,000 per country, per year — before selling a unit
1 reg.
VAT for all 27 EU states
One registration through Irish Revenue covers all 27 states. One quarterly return.
UK / US route: separate VAT per market — months of paperwork, each
1st.
Movers take the shelf
Most brands in your category aren't on Amazon EU yet. The first to rank organically hold that ground for years.
Organic rank, once lost, is very expensive to win back
Irish brands
You already hold the advantage.

Inside the customs union, with Amazon.ie as a home proving ground. What's missing is the operator knowledge — that's what we supply.

UK & international brands
Ireland fixes your Brexit problem.

Your EU customers may already import from your UK or US listings at worse prices. Routed through Ireland, you get local-brand economics. We build that route.

The verdict

Every Bearing ends with
a stamp.

Data tools hand you forty metrics and leave the decision to you. The Bearing reads your brand and hands you the decision.

GO.

The opportunity is clear, the brand is ready, the economics work. Comes with the market sequence and a week-by-week plan.

CONDITIONAL GO.

Strong opportunity — with named conditions to clear first. Each one specific, ordered, time-estimated. Most brands land here.

WAIT.

Launching now would waste your money. We say so, explain why, and tell you exactly what changes the verdict.

"
We stamp WAIT more often than you'd expect. An agency that never turns work away isn't assessing your brand — it's processing your card. The verdict you can trust is the one that's allowed to be no.

A worked example

What a Bearing
actually looks like.

An anonymised, real assessment — a children's oral-care brand on a UK entity with EU demand already leaking onto a US listing. Here's the shape of the verdict they received.

The key insight

EU customers were already buying the brand by importing from its US Amazon listing — paying more, waiting longer. A dedicated Amazon.de listing fulfilled from EU stock would capture demand that already exists, at better economics for everyone.

The route

DE 92 → FR 78 → NL 64 → AT 58 → SE 51. Germany first — largest market, natural-product premium, existing German-buyer reviews already visible on the US listing.

Why conditional, not GO

Two named blockers to clear first: the UK entity triggers post-Brexit fiscal-representation cost in each EU market, and a product-safety report needed resolving before any launch. Each was listed with a resolution step — that's what makes it conditional, not a no.

The Irish contrast

The Bearing also showed the punchline of the whole model: an Irish brand in the same category would score 15–20 points higher — for no reason other than geography. No Brexit fiscal rep, one VAT registration, zero duty. Same product, better route.

This is the free directional Bearing's depth. The €690 Full Bearing adds named competitors, verified search volumes, a signed financial model, and the week-by-week plan.

Why the rev share is capped
A success fee that grows forever eventually punishes success — yours. At €5,000/month it stops, in writing. Past that, every extra euro of EU revenue is entirely yours.
Why week-12 payment
The final 50% falls due at week 12 even if launch is delayed on your side — packaging, stock, sign-offs. It keeps both of us honest about timelines, and it's stated here, not discovered later.

Some brands don't want a launch, a retainer, or a dashboard to check. They want Amazon EU to simply happen — without building a team, holding an account, or learning a marketplace. For them, Traeva doesn't advise on the channel. Traeva becomes the channel.

Run by an operator who spent 14 years managing Amazon EU for global consumer brands — including portfolios at FTSE-100 scale. That experience is the foundation; Traeva applies it to a small number of brands at a time.

About Traeva

Built by an operator,
not an agency.

Traeva exists because of a gap that shouldn't: brands with every structural advantage to win on Amazon EU, and nobody whose whole job is showing them the route.

The operator

Fourteen years inside
the machine.

14yrs
Operating Amazon EU categories — running them inside the machine, not advising from outside it.
100M+
Amazon revenue managed — across multi-brand portfolios spanning six European markets, simultaneously.

IE.
Based in Ireland — at the start of the route every client brand travels.
Traeva takes a small number of brands each year and goes deep. The constraint isn't a marketing line — depth is the product. If we take you on, your launch gets the attention a nine-figure account did.
Founder · Traeva · Ireland
And when the honest answer is WAIT — we say WAIT. A brand that launches before it's ready doesn't come back to Amazon for years. Protecting you from a bad launch is part of the service.
On honest verdicts
Why Traeva exists

The route was always there.
Nobody was running it.

Six established Amazon agencies were analysed before Traeva launched. Not one mentions Ireland, Amazon.ie, or the EU customs union advantage. All hide their pricing. All put account managers between you and the expertise. Traeva is built as the opposite on every line — and the name says the rest: Trade + Via. The trade route.

Focus, not volume

A small set of launch clients and deep partnerships at any one time. When we're at capacity, we say so and you go on a list — we don't stretch.

FAQs · Amazon EU & Amazon.ie

The questions brands
actually ask.

Straight answers on selling across Amazon Europe through Ireland — the customs union advantage, VAT, compliance, timelines, and how Traeva works. Useful whether or not you work with us.

Selling on Amazon Europe
Why sell on Amazon Europe through Ireland?
Ireland is the only English-speaking country inside the EU customs union. Goods routed from Ireland to Amazon's German, French, Italian, Spanish, or Dutch fulfilment centres cross no customs border — so there's zero import duty, no customs declarations, and no fiscal representative required. A single OSS VAT registration through Irish Revenue then covers all 27 EU member states. For an English-speaking brand, it's the simplest legal route into Amazon Europe.
Which Amazon EU marketplaces should I start with?
For most consumer brands, Germany first — it's Europe's largest Amazon marketplace by a wide margin. France and the Netherlands typically follow, with Italy and Spain after that. But the right sequence depends on your category, price point, and where demand already exists. Traeva's Bearing produces a brand-specific market sequence rather than a generic one.
Do I need a separate Amazon account for each EU country?
No. A single Amazon Europe (Seller Central) account gives you access to Germany, France, Italy, Spain, and the Netherlands through one unified login, with shared inventory via Pan-European or European Fulfilment Network FBA. Ireland (Amazon.ie) and the UK are separate marketplaces.
How long does an Amazon EU launch take?
A full Amazon EU launch typically takes 10–12 weeks from signing to first sale — covering account setup, Brand Registry, compliance, localised listings, FBA logistics, and advertising. An Amazon.ie domestic launch is faster at 4–6 weeks, since there's no cross-border VAT or translation involved.
VAT, compliance & legal
What is OSS VAT and do I need it?
OSS (One Stop Shop) is the EU's simplified VAT scheme. Instead of registering for VAT separately in every country you sell to, you register once — through Irish Revenue if you're routing via Ireland — and file a single quarterly return covering all EU sales. For a brand selling across multiple EU marketplaces, it removes most of the VAT complexity that stops brands expanding.
Do I need an EU company to sell on Amazon Europe?
Not necessarily, but your entity location changes your costs significantly. An Irish (EU) entity sells into the EU with no customs friction. A UK entity post-Brexit faces customs declarations and often needs a fiscal representative in each market — adding €2,000–€5,000 per country per year. This is the core reason Ireland is an advantageous route for English-speaking brands.
What is GPSR and how does it affect my listings?
GPSR (General Product Safety Regulation) is an EU rule requiring products to carry a responsible person or economic operator inside the EU, plus specific safety information. Since it came into force, Amazon has required GPSR compliance to keep listings active in the EU. Getting this right before launch avoids listings being suppressed after you've shipped stock.
What is Amazon Brand Registry and do I need it?
Brand Registry is Amazon's programme for trademark-holding brands. It unlocks A+ Content, a Brand Store, Sponsored Brand advertising, and stronger control over your listings. It requires a registered or pending trademark (EUIPO for the EU). Without it, you launch with limited tools — so it's usually worth filing the trademark early, as it can take several months.
Amazon.ie
Is it worth launching on Amazon.ie first?
For many Irish brands, yes — as a proving ground. Amazon.ie opened in 2025 and is still early, so category positions are winnable. A domestic launch lets you learn Amazon's systems in your own market and language, build real conversion and review data, and de-risk the larger EU move. Honest caveat: Amazon.ie is a small market, so it's about proof and learning, not transformative revenue on its own.
How big is Amazon.ie compared to Amazon.co.uk?
Amazon.ie is much smaller and newer — many Irish shoppers still default to Amazon.co.uk. That's precisely why early movers matter: the brands that establish organic rankings now hold positions that are expensive to displace later, before the marketplace matures and competition arrives.
Working with Traeva
What is the Bearing?
The Bearing is Traeva's brand-specific Amazon EU assessment. It reads your brand — website, category, pricing, readiness — and returns one of three verdicts: GO, WAIT, or CONDITIONAL GO, with the market sequence, financial model, and risks behind it. A free directional version is available on request; a full operator-reviewed and signed version is €690. It's yours to keep whether or not you launch with us.
Does Traeva manage Amazon accounts day to day?
Yes. Through the Growth Partnership, Traeva runs the channel end to end — advertising, inventory, listings, account health, and monthly reporting — founder-direct, with the success fee capped at €5,000 per month in writing. There's a 90-day exit and no lock-in, and you own everything built.
Can Traeva be the seller, so I don't run Amazon at all?
For a small number of established brands, yes — through the Enterprise option, Traeva becomes your authorised seller of record and operates the entire channel under our structure. You supply product; we do everything else. It's margin-based and by application, limited to one or two brands at a time.
What kind of brands does Traeva work with?
Irish consumer brands testing Amazon.ie or Amazon EU, UK brands seeking an EU route after Brexit, and US or international brands needing an EU operator on the ground. Traeva is not for dropshippers, idea-stage brands, or anyone without stock, margin, and compliance readiness — and works with a deliberately small number of brands at a time.
How do I get started?
Email your brand's website address to hello@traeva.ie. We'll prepare a free Bearing — an honest read on your Amazon EU opportunity, ending in a verdict. No call required, no obligation, and the assessment is yours either way.
